Hopefully this engine is good. The only issues Ive heard about lately are from people who are constantly idle theirs, so I'm not to worried.
Shit even the "low end" 60k lariat I looked at Brad Francis had all bells and whistles. I wanted something just plain jane no sunroof, nav, no chrome... But apparantly all of the duallys in town are fully loaded. Oh well. It sucked, after the USTRC and Ford Discounts it came down to high 60k then the gooseneck and extended warrany threw the price right back up to 63k.
52k for a cloth Duramax? F that! For that price it better be loaded IMO. I still want a HD Denalli though....
Smart move on getting the standard 5500 Branndon. I still wouldn't trust Dodges new 6 speed auto even if it is supposedly better than the old 68re.
Thats where I'll give Ford some major probs. Between the 5R and the 6R Ford has some of the toughest transmissions in stock form.

Most kids after finishing school buy a house, or something more practical. I go and get a truck.. At least I can live in the back seat lol In the same boat here. I live in a little trailerhouse. Everyone always asks why I'd rather put money into my truck instead of buying a house. I'm probably in the truck more often than the house! I have no use for one yet lol.

The gooseneck is pretty sweet huh?? lol I just don't like the stupid caps that you put on when you're not using it. And that Duramax was pretty darn sweet other than the fact it had a shortbed and cloth interior lol Drove mighty nice but I'm much happier I went this route. My dad's 6.7 has 10k miles all of them being tuned and deleted. No problems as of yet. The 550 just hit 12k and has overheated and shut down twice and this last trip to Texas it blew the t case up lol But the salesmans truck at his office is over 100k and hasn't had any problems that I know of.

Yeah I won't own an auto to pull shit. Going to get a gear vendors overdrive unit cause 4.44 gears and .74 stock of is 2,000rpm at 63 mph. My brothers aisin transmission in his 07.5 c&c lasted 530,000 that was pulling a 40 goose 99% of the time. They just can't Handel a programmer or even deletes really.

I have no use for one yet lol. haha. their will be plenty of time later on to get a house and do the whole family thing. Or thats how I look at it. When else am I going to be able to do the whole truck thing as well as mess around building a weekend warrior blazer? The gooseneck is pretty sweet huh?? lol I just don't like the stupid caps that you put on when you're not using it. Haven't even put the ball in yet lol but I'm indifferent about the caps. I guess its better than just having a whole in the bed. But I do hate how they did the trailer plug in the bed. And the tailgate step seems kind of cheesy. I stepped on it and it didn't feel like I could stand on it for to long. So far Ive sat in the truck for the last 5 hours since I picked it up lol. The Ford sync does way to much. They might as well just put a full blown computer for the stereo and get it over with Isn't the 550 one of the first 6.7s though? Like everyone says, always wait a year or two for them to work out the bugs.

Oh definitely get a gear vendor on it. Thats why my parents got a F350 with 4.10s instead of the F450 which has the 4.88 gears when they bought their 6.4 in 09. They test drove a 450 and right about 75/80 mph it was tapped out...

We had a gear vendor on our old 550. Blew 3 of them up in 150k miles lol You don't realize it but they're only rated for like 27k lbs or something close to it. Not anywhere near what the towing capacity is of these bigger trucks.
And yes the 550 and my dads 350 were first build 11's lol
The tailgate step is pretty sturdy. Doesn't seem like much but it can handle weight. And whatever you do don't leave the tailgate unlocked. The tailgate with the step and back up camera are stolen all the fucking time. Bare metal no paint they're 3 thousand dollars to replace!!! The trailer plug is ugly for sure but it's nice that it has one. And the caps only suck because they don't stay in very well. The first time you try to slide something in the bed they pop out lol
And make sure you register your sync on syncmyride.com That way you can get traffic and weather updates. It sounds stupid but it's pretty sweet. Even gives you scores of games and stock reports lol

I won't tow heavy at all with the gear vendor unit just my 10,000 lbs goose. Also going to 285 tires about 35" tall that will help also. In worst case serniero I will order the 4.10's from the dealership. Top speed is 87 mph I can't have that lol so h&s will be going on

3Gs for a tailgate.... F that. I'm going to go get a master lock on it as well lol
I'm in love with it though. Everything can be ran through the voice commands. And the heated steering wheel today was amazing lol

Really? He called me back within 30 minutes of me calling. He quoted me $60 for the fronts.... But Abq Tint did the limo tint on my Dodge. I'll probably have them do it since I can drop the truck off and go to class then pick it up after

Those have factory mounting points for a 5th wheel/goosneck?? Now that's slick.

Yup, the only stipulation to having that option is that you have to buy the Ford/Reese exclusive ball and 5th wheel for it to work... You'd think a 64K truck would come with the $200 ball, but oh well, guess its cheaper and easier than buying a B&W hitch and then having to make an appointment to get it all installed.
