I've been kind of quiet for the most part when it's come to my Duramax build. Figured I'd finally start a build thread on it.
Back in October I had just finished installing new injectors and resealing the injector cups after one blew out from Truckfest. Was out test driving/hot rodding it and lost compression in the #8 cylinder. So here's my build so far:
If the block does need to be bored then I will probably be going with Finger's cast oval chamber pistons and drop my compression down to maybe 15.5. I've personally done my own tuning on this truck but don't trust myself enough now when this much money and time is involved. So who is tuning it is still a toss up but not high priority now anyhow.
My goal is to daily drive 700hp, be able to crank it up on the dyno, make some exhibition runs at the sled pulls, and still be able to haul my camper/goosneck with little to no smoke. Really have no goal for quarter mile times as this elevation sucks to race in period lol.
Here it was installing the new injectors and the fresh powdercoating:
Then the teardown, again...
My S366 kit and water-meth kit removed (FOR SALE)
Parts, tools, and drinks piling up:
The turbos. Going to powdercoat them blue to match

- De-lipped and reusing my stock LB7 pistons (if I don't need a bore)
- Carrillo connecting rods
- Socal camshaft and valve springs
- Balanced rotating assembly with Socal balancer
- ARP main and head studs
- LBZ injection pump in the valley twined with my factory LB7 pump
- Comp turbo CT6-94106 94mm 1.23a/r triple ceramic ball bearing turbo feeding a Comp turbo CT43-7279 72mm 1.15a/r, also ball bearing
- Exergy Injection 100% injectors
